Happy 2025
For several years now, designer Jordi Blasi has been gifting, during the Christmas holidays, a small object related to design, accompanied by a text printed with a thermal printer that explains the story behind each piece. A text that, over time, will eventually fade. Only our memory will preserve it.
This original idea perfectly aligns with our tradition in recent years, where we have invited designers, photographers, artisans, or artists to create a special greeting to celebrate the new year.
As we mentioned earlier, Jordi Blasi has gifted us over the years with objects such as the switch by Pier Giacomo and Achille Castiglioni, the Nata Milan 624 eraser with its characteristic scent, or an old Nintendo construction piece, from the times where the Japanese manufacturer pretended to be Lego.
These small reflections on objects, described with care and precision, form a hypothetical catalog, a small collection in which we are delighted to take part with the anchoring piece which holds the shelf of the Tria shelving system.
The Tria shelving system was designed in 1978 by JM Massana and JM Tremoleda, founders of Mobles 114. In its first version, the shelving system consisted of galvanized steel rod side frames, painted steel shelves, and hardened steel anchoring pieces. Over the years, the side panels and the shelves have been slightly modified, whether with improvements in production processes, adaptations to new requirements, or optimizations in quality.
In contrast, the anchoring pieces produced by the same supplier since the beginning, have not changed in material or form. The only evolution has been in its finish, which is now more environmentally friendly and more resistant to corrosion.
An anchoring piece whose design arises from a small gesture that shapes an eminently functional form.
An anchoring piece that explores the limits of a material, in terms of its structural strength and subtle elasticity, allowing us to comfortably hold a shelf, overcoming, when necessary, the imperfections of an uneven wall.
Happy New Year!
